Skin Cancer Screenings
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States. More than one million new cases are diagnosed each year and approximately 10,000 Americans die each year from the disease.

At Cooper Clinic in Dallas we recommend an annual, head-to-toe skin cancer screening.

Our board-certified dermatologists perform a meticulous screening for cancers, pre-cancers and atypical moles. With the physician, you will also discuss information regarding your past sun exposure, sun protection measures and family history of skin cancer.

Mole Removal
Cooper Clinic Dermatology in Dallas removes moles from the face and other areas of the body for cosmetic reasons or medical concerns.

If an atypical mole is identified in a skin cancer screening, it is removed and tested. To remove the mole, we use gentle numbing and meticulous surface removal without the need for stitches in most cases. The immediate appearance is that of a prominent superficial scratch, and rapid healing is typical with little to no scarring and no signs of stitching.

All moles removed are submitted to the pathologist. If the biopsied mole shows signs of health-threatening changes, further surgery may be required.

Call Cooper Clinic Dermatology at 972.367.6000 or complete our appointment request form to schedule a skin cancer screening or mole removal today.

Twenty-four hours’ advance notice is required for all cancellations and/or rescheduling of appointments to avoid incurring a $75 fee.
