Board Certified in Preventive Medicine
Cooper Aerobics

Tyler C. Cooper, MD, MPH, is president and chief executive officer of Cooper Aerobics, a preventive medicine physician at Cooper Clinic and co-author of “Start Strong, Finish Strong.” As president and chief executive officer, Dr. Tyler Cooper oversees Cooper Aerobics’ six diverse health and wellness companies.

Dr. Tyler Cooper grew up at the renowned Cooper Aerobics Center in Dallas, which was founded by his father, Kenneth H. Cooper, MD, MPH, just eight days before he was born. Sunday afternoons with the Cooper family consisted of jogging three miles together. His family’s commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle shaped Dr. Tyler Cooper and led him to follow in his father’s footsteps.

He began serving as a practicing preventive medicine physician at Cooper Clinic in 2006. Over the course of the next eight years, Dr. Tyler Cooper spearheaded numerous milestones for the organization including multi-million dollar renovations of both Cooper Hotel Conference Center and Spa and Cooper Fitness Center. In addition, he was instrumental in overhauling the organization’s website, cooperaerobics.com, to help people improve the quality and quantity of their lives with Get Cooperized™ as the heart of its mission. Dr. Tyler Cooper took the opportunity to rebrand the organization marking its 40th anniversary with a new tagline, Get Cooperized™, along with an updated logo and new visual architecture for the organization. He also relaunched the direction of Cooper's corporate wellness services with Cooper Wellness Strategies (formerly Cooper Consulting Partners), Cooper’s business-to-business entity.

Dr. Tyler Cooper currently serves on the Board of Trustees for The Cooper Institute, the Board of Directors for Cooper Complete® and North Texas Food Bank. In addition, he is a member of Young Presidents’ Organization and serves on the Advisory Board of Baylor University School of Health and Human Sciences. Formerly, he served on the board of Baylor University School of Education, Harvard University School of Public Health, Grand Bank of Texas and D Healthcare Daily. He also served as President of American Heart Association - Dallas Division Board of Directors and on the Friends of Brain Health Scientist Selection Committee for the Center for Brain Health at The University of Texas at Dallas.

His love for the outdoors and extreme adventures has resulted in climbing many of the world’s summits, back country snow skiing, diving several of the world's seas and traveling to all seven continents. Like his father, Dr. Tyler Cooper’s professional and personal goals align perfectly. With his wife, Angie, and their children, Clark, Lang and Kai, his passion to help people live better both sooner and later is as strong as his own commitment to living the Get Cooperized™ lifestyle.

Dr. Tyler Cooper completed his internship in Family Practice at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia, and his preventive medicine residency at The University of South Carolina. He received a Doctor of Medicine from The University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio and a Master of Public Health in Health Care Management from Harvard University. Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Tyler Cooper worked abroad and in business development for Cooper Aerobics for several years. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University, where he was All-Conference for both track and cross country.
