Cooper Clinic provides several COVID-19 testing options for patients experiencing coronavirus-like symptoms as well as those without symptoms who have a specific need for testing such as for travel or return to school or work.
If you are experiencing signs or symptoms of COVID-19, our Cooper Clinic physicians and team are available to assist you with determining the best test for you. Signs and symptoms may appear any time from 2 to 14 days after exposure to the virus and may include:
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
- Fever
- Headache/body aches
- Congestion or runny nose
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
- Fatigue
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Testing Options
1. Sofia SARS Antigen FIA - for individuals who may have been exposed or have symptoms of COVID-19
- Detects the protein antigen of the COVID-19 virus
- Collection Method: Nasal swab
- Results: 24-48 hours
2. LIASION® MDX Simplexa™ COVID-19 Direct - for individuals who may have been exposed or have symptoms of COVID-19; often required for travel clearance
- Detects the genetic information, or RNA, of the COVID-19 virus only
- Collection Method: Nasal or nasopharyngeal swab
- Results: 24-48 hours
3. QIAstat-Dx™ Respiratory Panel - for individuals who may have symptoms of COVID-19 or suspect there may be another respiratory illness
- Checks for 21 respiratory pathogens including COVID-19 using RNA detection
- Collection Method: Nasopharyngeal swab
- Results: 24-48 hours
