Cooper Clinic Launches Comprehensive Weight Loss Program

DALLAS – June 28, 2016 – Cooper Clinic announces its new Cooper Weight Loss program within its Nutrition Services department. The three-month customizable program, open to the public and led by Cooper Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, personal trainers and a behavioral psychologist, combines nutrition, fitness and behavioral change to help individuals lose weight while gaining health. “Based on science, Cooper Weight Loss has been created to serve as another tool for us to help improve the quality and quantity of peoples’ lives. Obesity, which is closely associated with inactivity, decreases life expectancy by an average of six years,” explains Dr. Tyler Cooper, President and CEO of Cooper Aerobics. “Maintaining a healthy weight is one of the 8 Steps to Get Cooperized, developed by my father, Dr. Kenneth H. The three-month Cooper Weight Loss program is customized for each participant and is led by a team of experts from across the Cooper Aerobics campus. A baseline Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) test is followed by consistent meetings with Cooper Clinic Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, as well as cooking demonstrations and meal planning workshops, to allow clients the opportunity to be held accountable for their healthy eating habits. Body fat percentage testing and lab work at the beginning and end of the program add baselines to each client’s journey.
A focus on exercise includes opportunities to work with Cooper Fitness Center Professional Fitness Trainers or our Female Focus group training program. Each one also includes a complimentary three-month membership to Cooper Fitness Center. Working with a certified behavior modification counselor rounds out the clinically sound program through emphasis on overall wellness. Additional enhancements are also offered.
